Philosophy Statement
As a leader in nursing, I strongly believe that I am the role model for my team. I work hard to follow the values of my organization as well as my beliefs about the nursing profession. I feel a great need to improve the relationships between nurses and physicians and the need for nurses to work together as a team. I am a trust worthy person, and through this trust with my employees, I can create a sense of direction for improvements in the workforce where I can encourage staff to become engaged and creative in ways to build our team. I value doing the right thing and holding myself and my team accountable for our actions. I work to demonstrate behaviors that accentuate teamwork. I believe the positive relationships that I have as a leader within my organization will demonstrate to my staff that I practice and follow the same values that I expect them to follow.
I believe that nursing is a great profession consisting of advanced knowledge and skill. As a nurse leader, it is my philosophy that nurse leaders should provide a work environment where professional development and growth are encouraged and supported. I have a great understanding of the importance of lifelong learning to support the knowledge and skills that are required to provide the best care for the patient. With that understanding, I provide guidance and resources for my staff to continue their education outside of the organization. As a leader, I find pride in supporting my staff. I promote open communication and relationship building among peers.
I hope to make an impact on my organization by the way I lead my team to provide the best care to the patients. I believe that by improving the morale within my unit I can improve communication and teamwork. By creating a supportive, postive work environment I will improve employee satisfaction and ultimately the patient experience. I believe that job satisfaction plays a large role in the productivity of the staff. I have a goal to work to develop efficient work and engaged employees to support our profession of nursing.
